10 Tips for Successful Network Marketing

To enhance your direct selling and recruiting efforts within the world of multi-level marketing (MLM), consider using these MLM Success tips:

  1. Be Ethical: The world of direct selling and multi-level marketing is littered with unscrupulous people and selling tactics. Despite what pressures may be upon you driving you towards MLM success, be careful to run your business above bar in all respects.
  2. Sponsor, Don’t Recruit: Many MLMs incentivize representatives to recruit other sales representatives. Obviously, it will improve your profitability and recruitment numbers if your new recruits stick around for awhile. By setting aside time and resources to properly train your recruits on business practices and products, your retention rates will be better.
  3. Find a Company With A Product You Love: You can’t sell something or share your business if you don’t genuinely have pride in what you are representing. Do your MLM research and determine to partner with a company you can take pride in. Don't forget to look into the company's compensation plan before you join and make sure it is favorable to you.
  4. Make an Effort to Share Your Product Everyday: Do something for your business everyday. Whether that is sharing a product sample, inviting a neighbor or starting a website or social media account.
  5. Book At Least Three Parties: For an MLM with a product-party focus, make sure and walk away from each event with at least three more parties on the schedule. Doing so will ensure you grow your business rather than just sustain it.
  6. Educate Yourself on Different Ways to Market: If you excel at direct selling, but aren’t very computer savvy, take some time to learn how a website, email and social media can excel your business and product sales. If talking to customers is where you fall apart, brush up on your communication strategies.
  7. Don’t Barrage Your Friends and Family: You are going to be excited about your new business, and MLMs do a great job trying to generate an immediate frenzy with new recruits. My advice is to take a deep breath before you blast into your personal relationships. It is important to draw customers from your inner circle, but there is a fine line between inundating and informing.
  8. Be Genuine: & Listen: Listening goes hand in hand with being genuine. If you are having a “conversation” with someone but thinking only about the next thing you plan to say or share, you aren’t listening and you are going to miss something important. Telling isn’t selling. Understanding and meeting your customer's needs will sell product.
  9. Creatively Share Your Business: It is truly possible to share your business with everyone without sounding like a ranting lunatic. By being creative in how you introduce your business or use products publicly, you can draw in interested individuals naturally.
  10. Brush Up on the Realities of Most MLMs: Success and income generation aren’t as fruitful as most MLM companies would have you believe. Statistics show that less than one out of 100 MLM representatives actually see MLM success or make any money. Additionally, MLM scams and unsavory business practices are prevalent in the world of MLM. Watch out for warning signs of MLM scams.

What is Multi Level Marketing?

Multi level marketing, or MLM, is a system for selling goods or services through a wide network of distributors, each of whom is responsible and compensated for recruiting new members to the multi level marketing system.
Most multi-level (MLM) marketing programs grow through recruitment. Each person recruited becomes part of the "downline" for the person who recruited them. In most MLM marketing arrangements people make money off of the sales efforts of their downline. In some cases, more money than they make selling or distributing the actual products or services themselves.
While multi-level marketing programs have been successful for years, including some of the most noteworthy like Tupperware, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Amway, there are many more MLM failures than successes and the MLM industry is, unfortunately, rife with scams.
Multi-level marketing scams include "pyramid schemes" in which the investor is promised huge returns for a single investment, through the investments of all the downline recruits. Pyramid schemes are illegal because there are no products or services involved that have any value, the goal is merely recruiting others to pay investment fees for services or products that are never marketed or delivered, much like a chain letter.
Most successful network marketers stress the importance of getting into the program in its youth - while there's still money to be made and before the market becomes over saturated.
If you decide to try a multi-level marketing opportunity, you are urged to do your homework carefully and fully research the business you intend to market for and make sure that your sponsors provide all the necessary training and support you'll need to be successful. You'll also need to make sure that the network marketing opportunity you're considering is legal and the products are worth buying.

There are probably many times more failures than successes in multi-level marketing and many have learned the hard way - after investing their money - that network marketing, or MLM, was not as easy as it sounded when they bought into the program.
